How did you first become interested in your line of business? (if owner) - What is your background? (If owner or store manager)
Wayne Nielsen is Managing Director of WFN Strategies, and possesses over 25 years of telecoms experience and developed and managed international projects in the Americas, Far East/Pac Rim, Europe and Middle East. He possesses a postgraduate Masters degree in International Relations, and Bachelor's Degrees in Economics and Political Science. Throughout the 1980s and 90s he worked for British Telecom, Cable & Wireless and SAIC. In 2001, he founded WFN Strategies, which provides project development and engineering of remote communications for telecoms, defense and oil & gas clients. Recent projects have included inter-platform systems in Australia, Gulf of Mexico, US west coast, North Sea and Angola; Antarctica and Prudhoe Bay multi-telecoms systems; and numerous transoceanic submarine cable systems. He is also founder and publisher of Submarine Telecoms Forum magazine (www.subtelforum.com), the industry’s considerable voice on the topic.
